impression of bangalore

Bangalore to me has always been a metropolitan city with varied cultures with cosmopolitan crowd . But there was more to it. The morning presentations gave me a whole new picture about Bangalore’s history and interesting facts about how the name Bangalore came into being and how initially it was called ‘’ The city of boiled beans.’’
Bangalore has had a fascinating history, its association with Kempe Gowda, Tipu sultan, Hyder Ali and Gangaraja. It being given various names like Benda-kalooru, bangaluru.  it was interesting to know how Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan constructed gardens in Bangalore. Hence u can see a lot of greenery all over Bangalore hence also called as the “the city of gardens”.
The architecture of Bangalore, specially the cantonment area is influenced by the British. And how many of the avenues have an English name to them. Bangalore has been highly influenced by the Britishers in terms of their language and architecture. Bangalore one of the only cities which  brings with it the sense belongingness as it still preserves its heritage like the statues of the influential leaders like queen Victoria.  English was the major language used then by the Anglo-Indian community in Bangalore. They played a very important role in the history of Bangalore. They were the people who had mixed Indian and British ancestry. There are still many Anglo-Indian in Karnataka, mainly Bangalore who did not migrate to abroad. There were places like koshy’s , the only place and thoms cafĂ© where people went to have fancy food like rice dumlings which we surprisingly get in every locality of Bangalore today with the simple name idli .
Due to its green gardens, pleasant climate and as a slow city a lot of people settled down in Bangalore hence it was also called as the “pensioner’s paradise”. There has been a drastic boom in the population in the past few years taking an account millions  of migrations that happen every year, bringing to this city diversity, culture and  languages, thus making it multilinguistic.
Also from where it takes the description the Silicon city of India because of its position as the nations leading Industry. The introduction of technology in Bangalore, led to the development of the city as the IT Capital of India. Bangalore has become an important IT sector in India. Companies like WIPRO and Infosys has flourished over the years, making it 4th best in the world.
Bangalore from a pleasant place has drastically changed into a city full of high rise buildings. For example – where the MG road metro station stands was a place called Promenade where people came for a stroll dressed in their best attire and how the place has considerably changed.
The education system in Bangalore has always been credible which attracted youth and I am fortunate to be one of them and explore and know about the majestic city -Bangalore
