This course will enable students to draw on one locality of Bangalore, the cantonment, to undertake short creative writing and research based writing assignments. We will walk through the cantonment, meet with residents and examine artists/writers reflections on life in Bangalore cantonment over the course of the 20th and 2st century in order to gain inspiration for our writings.  We will also engage with writing(s) on the cantonment and its inhabitants and other related reading.
