My impression of Bangalore city

My impression of Bangalore city after today's presentation.
Bangalore city has always been a part of my childhood. I have been visiting Bangalore since the past 18yrs.  Back then, Bangalore city was just a holiday spot where the I would come and enjoy its weather. My view towards it was always a comparison with the city I live in, 'Bombay'. It was an undeveloped city with old architecture. It was more like a town than a city. The only good thing I knew about it was the beautiful gardens and it's amazing climate. But since the past years the city has changed its look completely. The development of the city is clearly visible with the upcoming malls, schools, IT companies and of course the increase in population. From the ''green city'' it has become  a ''polluted city'' with huge amount of traffic issues. It too has become a concrete jungle like the other metro cities.
I have been in touch with this city since the past 18 yrs but never actually known anything about it. After today's presentation I got to know a lot about the history of the city. Bangalore has a beautiful history connected to it which shows how it got its name and why the city has the old architecture. The numerous names like the ''city of boiled beans'', ''the silicon valley'', ''pub city'', ''pensioners paradise'' given to it completely describe its character. Bangalore played a very important role in the history of India. It was a city of shelter for many citizens  during the time of war. It was a calm and slow paced city. I always thought that it became a cosmopolitan city in the 21st century after the development of the city, but I was wrong. The history clearly showed that how different kind of people migrated and got  protected here showing that Bangalore has always been a multinational city.
But the "city of gardens'' now has a dual nature. The upcoming IT companies is giving the city a new look. Like said in an article by the C.E.O of Infosys, the jewel of Indian information technology, that the '''playing ground is flattened''. It meant that countries like India are now able to compete for global knowledge work as never before. Bangalore plays a huge part in proving the above. The development of the companies in Bangalore is helping it in globalization. It has become a future city in the field of technology.
In spite of Bangalore becoming an IT hub it still has history attached with it. There are many streets and buildings which still have the British name and touch in it. Along with developing into a new city, it continues to maintain its aesthetic value. Despite being a metro and busy city, Bangalore still is very calm and slow paced.
