My impression of Bangalore

Never had I thought that I would be spending few years of my life in the ‘City of Gardens’ – Bangalore. A city with contrasting personalities. A city with a mystical past. A city overburdened by the jaws of technology. A city which abodes a varied population with their own respective languages. Initially I did not apprehend Bangalore to be in this way. I was rather in a daze to notice so much.

It was only after the presentations on the history and antiquity of the city, that I could actually outline Bangalore as an anecdotal narrative.

The City of Bangalore has been expanding at a swift pace on all porticos. It was Kempegowda who was held accountable for erecting the prevailing city of Bangalore in c.15737, building a mud fort here to the north of the present standing fort which roofed the area of the Avenue Road and its backdrops. Bangalore’s rule altered several times – be it from the ‘Western Gangas’ to the ‘Cholas’ or to the ‘Hoysala Empire.’ In short, the region of modern day Bangalore was part of numerous successive South Indian Kingdoms. Within the Fort, the township was apportioned into minor divisions – respectively called a ‘pete,’ which was a significant epicenter of action during that time. This gave birth to disparity within the same city. However, short after the fall of the Yelahanka Chiefton, Bangalore saw a shift in its administrative town character and adapted a much more commercial and creative look. Hence, the inhabitants of the Pete started looking at fresh vicinities outside the Pete Region. This headed towards the demolishing of old houses, which were reformed into viable businesses. Nowhere else in South India can such an example be found of a complete old city being altered into a viable area. Also the upcoming of the Cantonment with more lung space, attracted residents from other parts of the country, crafting itself to be farther broad-based in nature.

What I discovered to be thought provoking was the fact that Bangalore has always been known for its electronic industry; the ‘electronic city’ of India so to say. Off late Bangalore has been labeled as the electronic city of the entire globe. Bengaluru is home to numerous InfoTech companies and now the time has come when it is being called the Hi - Tech capital of India. Bangalore is home to many renowned colleges and research institutions in India as well. Numerous public sector substantial businesses, technology companies, aerospace, communications, and defense bodies are located in the city. Bangalore is additionally known as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’ because of its position as the nation’s leading IT exporter. A demographically distinct city, Bangalore is a key economic and cultural hub and the second fastest developing major metropolis in India.

The city is an intriguing dwelling for an array of doings, races and regimes, a multicultural enclose as it is recurrently called. Hostelries, nightclubs and luxurious hotels cohabit tranquilly with traditional buildings. The credits are given to the surprisingly adequate climate of the city throughout the year.

Also an insight into the architecture of Bangalore discloses an assortment of design influences from around the globe. Not only do these structures recap you of a particular culture but also certain to transport you back in time - Victorian gardens, Elizabethan palaces, Moghul masjids, European churches and Dravidian temples and some times even a brazen fusion of all these styles is evident in one single piece of art.

As and add-on to night clubs and turrets, the Colonial impact can still be seen in numerous churches left behindhand, which in time have become a part of he holy and the architectural inheritance of Bangalore.

Bangalore is a unique city altogether, its got an arresting charm about it that keeps you asking for more. More of Bangalore.
